Country music star Carly Pearce has been making waves on her current tour, but one moment in particular has gotten her in hot water – with her mom! The “Next Girl” singer recently shared a funny exchange with her mother following a viral video from one of her shows. Keep reading for more details.
Carly Pearce Shut Out Of 2024 CMA Awards
Beyoncé wasn’t the only one snubbed by the Country Music Association when handing out CMA Award nominations for 2024. The pop star released her first country music album earlier this year. While Beyoncé topped the country charts, she didn’t receive any CMA nominations, a move defended by Dolly Parton.
Carly Pearce was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry last year. Like Beyoncé, she didn’t get any CMA Award nominations, but there’s a good reason. Her latest album, hummingbird, came out in June. The singer did, however, receive a nomination for Female Artist of 2024 for this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards. She also received a nod for Female Song of 2024 for the song “hummingbird” off her new album.
The People’s Country Choice Awards airs on Thursday, September 26, at 8 PM Eastern, on NBC and streams on Peacock the next day.
Country Singer Scolded By Mom For Viral Moment From Tour
Carly Pearce went viral last month for kicking a fan out of one of her shows. The unruly concertgoer interrupted the show by shouting “no one cares” as the singer spoke on stage. She immediately instructed security to escort the man out with an expletive-filled rant.
“Get out of my show. If you’re gonna be an a**hole, you’re gonna have to say it to me and then get the f**k out of my show. I do not have time for d*cks… see you later!”
While the internet praised Carly Pearce, her mother wasn’t impressed by the language she used. The singer shared her mother’s reaction while chatting with Fox News about the ACM Honors she co-hosted with Jordan Davis earlier this week.

She said that her mom agreed with fans who said the singer could have used different words instead of swearing. “She was like, ‘You didn’t have to say that word,’ and I was like, ‘I understand.'”
Carly Pearce also addressed the double standard if a male singer has cussed out an audience member.
“I think as a female in country music, I’ve talked to a few other females in the industry, and it’s like, the boys do it and it’s cool, but if I do it, it’s like, ‘oh, she’s being disrespectful.'”
As they say, moms are always right… but in this case, we think Carly’s got it just right.
