Brantley Gilbert first dated his now-wife, Amber Cochran Gilbert, in high school. He reconnected with her in 2014. They married a year later. The country singer confessed to PEOPLE magazine that his wife inspired some of his biggest hits, including “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.”
The first child, son Barrett Hardy-Clay, was born on Nov. 11, 2017. They welcomed their second child, daughter Braylen Hendrix, in 2019. The country singer and his wife announced on Mother’s Day 2024 that they were expecting their third child. But what they weren’t expecting was the baby to arrive during one of dad’s shows.

Brantley Gilbert Stops Show To Help His Wife Give Birth
Brantley Gilbert was performing in Tupelo, Mississippi, on October 11 when he suddenly rushed off stage. His wife was in labor on the tour bus with her midwife. The baby was born shortly after he left the stage.
Footage from the show was posted on TikTok. According to the concertgoer, the singer was absent from the stage for about an hour before returning to announce that the baby was born. But instead of canceling the show, he finished out his set.

Brantley Gilbert was ready for the baby’s debut. He took to Instagram to share clips from the baby’s birth, as well as the audience’s reaction to the baby announcement. The video shows Brantley Gilbert’s band congratulating him.
The singer knew that some of his fans would think returning to the stage right after his wife gave birth was a strange choice. But he had a very good reason for it.
“I know it seems crazy to come back out, and a lot of you moms are probably in here like, ‘What the fuck is wrong with this dude?’ But for 20 years this is the only life I’ve ever known. And I know a lot of you have been coming to shows for 20 years and had my back for 20 years, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else. God bless y’all, man.”
