It seems that 2020 was just as tumultuous for Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley. At one point, Hubbard even jokes that they both wanted “to kill each other.” Fans quickly caught wind that the bandmates unfollowed each other on Instagram. Consequently, this raises concerns that Florida George Line was on the verge of splitting up. However, it turns out the duo just needed a break from continually seeing each other’s political differences on social media.
Florida Georgia Line bandmates Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley to make solo music.
Excitingly, Taste of Country reports that the Country superstar duo plans to make solo music this year. This announcement came on New Year’s Day. Apparently, since Florida Georgia Line was not able to tour due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley had time to figure out their musical tastes/styles independent of the other bandmate.

Kelley spends downtime doing sports and recreation. Additionally, Kelley and his family spent their quarantine time in Florida. Furthermore, Kelley shares he is “really falling in love with my guitar, and writing songs again, even more than ever.”
Conversely, Tyler Hubbard seems to choose to address the breakup rumors. According to Taste of Country, Hubbard “is careful to emphasize that they are moving forward with more freedom, not breaking up.” Notably, Hubbard goes on to say, “So anyone who says that, you can just tell ’em, hey, from the mouth of Tyler and BK, we’re not breaking up. We’re just venturing out, we’re just doing some individual things that we’re excited about.”
Currently, there isn’t a specific timeline on when Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard will release their individual projects. However, there is speculation that fans can expect to hear from the bandmates separately as soon as Summer 2021. Furthermore, Kelley and Hubbard both confirm collaborations on the solo projects. Unfortunately, they don’t confirm who they are collaborating with.
New music forecasted for the band.
Amid all the rumors of breaking up, it is comforting to know that Florida Georgia Line is releasing their fifth studio album, Life Rolls On in February. Excitingly, it also appears that the band is cautiously optimistic that they will resume touring in 2021. According to Taste of Country, “they’re holding some dates for 2021 in hopes that they’ll be able to return to the road.”
