Sadly, Cole Swindell shares the untimely passing of his mother, Betty Carol Rainey, on social media. Heartbreakingly for the singer and his family, his mom’s passing comes eight years after his father unexpectedly passed away in September 2013. Keep reading for more details.

Cole Swindell recently shares on his Instagram Stories (September 13th) that his mother has passed away. The somber photo is taking from the inside of an airplane and shows the singer’s view of his flight home. One the photo he writes, “Took this on the flight home to Georgia this afternoon. Lost my sweet Mom today. I know she’s up there. Gonna miss her so much. Love y’all.”

At the moment, there aren’t any details about the death of Mrs. Rainey. Also, Cole hasn’t said anything else since his Instagram Stories.

As Taste of Country notes, the “Chillin’ It” singer speaks about his love and appreciation for his mom often. In a 2019 interview with PopCulture, he says, “She’s the one that keeps me humble.” Cole goes on to say, “She’s the one that, no matter how stressed out I get, if I wanna be here or I wanna be there, she is always the first person to remind me, ‘Come on, Cole. Think about it. Me and you would have never thought you’d be where you are right now.'” He even confirms that thinking about things from his mom’s perspective helps him.

Fans and friends share their condolences on Twitter

From the looks of Twitter, Cole Swindell is getting an outpouring of love and support from fans and friends. Just a few hours after Cole gives Amazon a shout-out for featuring his new single “Some Habits,” the condolences start flowing in. Even, the Atlanta braves send their love to Cole’s family.

Cole Swindell is currently scheduled to open for Thomas Rhett on Thursday, September 16. Currently, there is no word on whether or not this performance will be canceled. While the singer recently released “Some Habits,” he hasn’t put out a new studio album since All of It from 2018.
