Carly Pearce is facing criticism after she canceled a recent concert in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on Saturday night. According to city officials, Carly canceled her appearance at the Jammin’ in Jeff concert series when she stated concerns about upcoming weather conditions.
According to city officials (via Country Music Family), there was a chance for storms starting at around 10 p.m. The storms did arrive later in the night. However, Jeffersonville officials said they offered her a chance to go on stage earlier to have everything finished before the storms began to arrive. According to the officials, Pearce canceled the show at 6 p.m.
They also said she rejected all alternative plans for the show. Also, Pearce received a performance fee for the concert. Despite canceling the show, Pearce refused to return the money. In her contract, there is a provision for “an act of God.” Pearce claimed that the possible storms were an act of God. She kept the money. The city also said they spent $20,000 on her songwriters and support staff. Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore called it “disheartening.”
