Jason Aldean has been at the center of controversy since he released the video for his song “Try That in a Small Town.” However, it looks like someone is trying to make things right and his video has been edited to remove some of the controversial moments that caused problems.

Here is what was removed from the Aldean video and what it means for the song.

Jason Aldean video removes controversial moments

After Jason Aldean released his music video for “Try That in a Small Town,” people started calling out the song and video for several reasons. Some people argue that the lyrics seem to promote gun violence. The video itself was shot in front of a courthouse where a lynching once took place and was intercut with images of riots and protests from news broadcasts.

“There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage,” Aldean originally said about the song. The video in fact does only show news footage. There are a lot of moments that show many people looting, rioting, and disrespecting the police.

The Hollywood Reporter originally revealed the edits but said that Aldean’s reps have yet to respond to the changes.
