Jelly Roll is continuing to prove that he is a transformed man and made a dying woman’s wish a reality. He has discussed how his past has continually come back to haunt him. Yet, there is no denying that he has a great heart and he recently proved how pure it is. So, what exactly went down? Read on for more details.
Jelly Roll Makes Dying Woman’s Wish Reality
A big honor for celebrities is when their fans’ last wish is to meet them. There is also the Make-A-Wish Foundation that facilitates these meetings. However, it was the James Bess Foundation that helped facilitate the meeting between Jelly Roll and a woman dying of cancer. What he left her with is something so beautiful, no one can deny that this man has a heart of gold. According to ABC 15 News, a Madison woman named Suzanne Durham was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer. Given just five months to live, she had one wish and that was to meet JR.
This was with good reason. Prior to her cancer diagnosis, Durham battled substance abuse. Yet, she was able to turn it all around and become a house manager for a rehab center in Nashville. This is a direct parallel to how Jelly Roll lived his life as he went from inmate to beloved performer. It is proof positive that anyone at any time can change their lives but sadly, Durham is running out of time. Thanks to the foundation, she was able to meet JR and well as his wife Bunnie.
In the most unselfish twist, Suzanne Durham did not just want the artist for herself. Rather, she asked that he talk to and perform for those that she had worked with. She wanted to give this gift back. Therefore, he and Bunnie came to church where they dined and he did a little show just for her and her alone. This also has another special meaning because the man the foundation was named after was dying and wanted to meet Garth Brooks. Sadly, the money was not there in time to make that happen. This has since changed immensely.
Giving Back
Recently, Jelly Roll admitted that he knows that he still has enemies and he understands that he did people dirty. However, it is clear that he has totally changed his life and is willing to do whatever it takes to make people smile. This is what he did for Suzanne Durham who is sadly losing her life in her fifties, way too soon. Luckily, she knows that she has someone looking out for her and, in return, JR will always have an angel.
