How has Jelly Roll’s dark past come back to haunt him all of these years later? Yes, he has done things that he is not necessarily proud of. Yet, he is a changed man with a good heart and soul. Unfortunately, being in the public eye, his former life will always be a hot topic and follow him wherever he goes. So, what exactly happens when it comes up and how does he deal with it all? Read on for more details.

How Jelly Roll’s Dark Past Comes Back To Haunt Him

Jelly Roll is a happy-go-lucky guy with a dangerously attractive wife. Additionally, they make the most unlikely pair but are extremely content with one another. It’s a new-age love story. Recently, JR spoke out about the Miranda Lambert selfie controversy and he was actually quite diplomatic about it. He spoke about heartfelt and emotional songs, showing his soul and how he connects to music. More so, he shared how much he does like Miranda and feels she is a good-hearted person. Unfortunately, despite all of the success he has been having recently, he just cannot escape his tainted past.

According to Everything Nash, Jelly Roll spoke to Apple Music Country’s Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen. He opened up about people wondering if he had any enemies given how he had been in prison yet he has turned his whole life around. “I said, ‘Yes, I do, I have 20 of them, and they all live in the same neighborhood. And they all hate that I’m successful in their soul.’ I get death threats… I have to hire extra security,” JR shared.

More so, Jelly Roll went on to add: “I have people from my past contact me all the time and feel like I owe them something. I mean, it’s just insane.” So, even though he is living his life as a successful country music star and family man, he is still subject to hatred for things he did years ago. Unlike some people who could get angry about the lengths he has to go to protect himself, JR seemingly understands why he has haters.

Can’t Let Go

Though it may sound strange, Jelly Roll can actually understand why people are so angry and aggressive toward him. He shared that, even though he is reformed now, there was a big chunk of time when he was a “horrible human.” Admittedly, his choices were not the best and he was bad to others. However, he has learned that people can do a 180 in their lives and he is proof positive of this.

Do you think Jelly Roll will ever be able to change his past or will he have to live it down for a long time to come? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. Unfortunately people are narrow sighted and as long as they can see his prison tattoos they will see him as a bad man. His enemies that hate him are haters and haters gonna hate. He’s am awesome singer and I love his music. But he wears his past on his face. He could have them removed with lasers. Or keep on doing what he does.

  2. I look at what’s on the inside… not on the outside… his tatts don’t bother me at all… it just shows how far up the ladder of life he’s climbed…
