An Incarcerated Felon: A Closer Look At Jelly Roll’s Criminal Past

As Taste Of Country reminded country music fans back in May, Jelly Roll has never tried to hide his criminal past. It, however, wasn’t until he sat down for an interview with Joe Rogan that he shared the details of his arrest.

Jelly Roll explained that when he was just 15 years old, he participated in robbing “a couple of guys” of their marijuana. Because of the nature of the crime, Jelly Roll was charged as an adult despite being just 15 years old.

The singing sensation admits it was a “heinous crime” he committed. He participated in an armed robbery as they had guns on them at the time.

Jelly Roll fessed up during the interview that the mistake fills him with regret that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. The singer paid for the mistake by spending a little over ten years of his life behind bars. By, the end of his punishment wasn’t the end of paying for his crime.

The mistake he made at the age of 15 resulted in an “inexpugnable felony” on his criminal record. And, it wasn’t until later in life that he learned being an incarcerated felon would prevent him from being able to do all sorts of things.
