Lainey Wilson is a frequent performer at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry. At one of her recent appearances, she stunned the audience with a classic Judds cover. Keep reading for all the details and to give the rendition a listen.

Lainey Wilson Raking In Awards

It’s been just 12 years since Lainey Wilson moved to Nashville to pursue her dreams of being a country singer. She released two albums with small labels before signing with mega-label BBR Music Group in 2018. Redneck Hollywood was her first album with her new label.

That same year, she went on tour with Morgan Wallen and had several of her songs featured on the TV show Yellowstone. She later made her acting debut in Season 5 of the Paramount show.

CBS is currently airing Yellowstone from the beginning if you missed it the first time around.

In 2021, Wilson had her first number-one single with “Things a Man Oughta Know,” and her career has only been up from there.

She already has a slew of awards under her belt, including New Female Artist of the Year at the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards.

Last month Lainey Wilson dominated at the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards, taking home three awards. The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer won Female Artist of 2023, Collaboration Song of 2023 with Jelly Roll for “Save Me,” and Music Video of 2023 for “wait in the truck” by HARDY, featuring Lainey Wilson.

She’s also nominated for a blind-blowing nine CMAs, including Entertainer of the Year.

Why Dolly Parton Brought Her To Tears

Despite all her success, Lainey Wilson is just a small-town girl at heart. It’s no surprise she was moved to tears when she met one of her idols, the incomparable Dolly Parton.

When Wilson won Female Artist of the Year at the 2023 ACMs, she was equally excited to meet Dolly Parton as she was to win the award. “I can’t believe I just met Dolly Parton,” she said after taking the stage.

Lainey Wilson Stuns With Judds Cover

The ACM stage wasn’t Lainey Wilson’s first time connecting with Dolly Parton, though it was their first in-person interaction – the two duet together on the upcoming Judds tribute album.

Tribute to the Judds also features a collab between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

Lainey Wilson is no stranger to the Grand Ole Opry, first visiting the Nashville landmark at the age of nine.

Last week she returned to the revered circle for another performance.

Whiskey Riff reports that Wilson gave audiences a preview of her upcoming song with Dolly Parton. The two singers join together for a rendition of “Mama He’s Crazy,” The Judds’ first number-one hit single.

Dolly Parton wasn’t at the Grand Ole Opry, but that didn’t stop Lainey Wilson from stunning the audience with a solo version of the song. Listen to it below. You can hear her duet with Dolly Parton when Tribute to the Judds releases on October 27.
