Lee Brice Helps Pancreatic Cancer Research With Charity Event

While most artists tend to be a great singer or an exceptional writer, Lee Brice seems to be a master at both. Although he attended Clemson University on a football scholarship, he eventually turned to a career in music after suffering an injury.

And turning a negative into a positive, the singer flourished as he worked with top names like Adam Gregory, Tim McGraw, and Garth Brooks. That doesn’t include eight of his singles hitting number one on Billboard Country Airplay.

With his career prospering, Brice continues to flourish. Recently, he decided to help the Nikki Mitchell Foundation with their charity event. And following the “go big or go home” mentality, the singer pulled out all the stops.

In 2010, Nikki Mitchell found herself diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Although she fought valiantly, in 2013, she sadly passed away. Creating The Nikki Mitchell Foundation to help those finding themselves fighting the same disease, the money raised by the charity goes toward helping not only patients but also crafting new technology for early detection. The foundation’s main goal is to contribute to finding a cure for the horrible disease.

Setting A Record

Hosting their 10th Homecoming Golf and Concert, the foundation brought in top names like Jerrod Niemann, Jamey Johnson, and Lee Brice. Performing at the Bowery in South Carolina, the singers played an impressive lineup for the crowd. They did so well that the president of the foundation, Rhonda Miles, praised their efforts.

She released a statement, admitting, “The Nikki Mitchell Foundation is excited to have our 10th anniversary Homecoming Golf & Concert break the previous records. Lee Brice and his team did an amazing job for our pancreas patients.”

Using his talents to help those less fortunate, Lee Brice helped raise a staggering $570,000 for The Nikki Mitchell Foundation. Besides an impressive amount of donations, the singer helped set a new record for their fundraising event.

Sharing his thoughts on the concert and the amount raised, Lee Brice posted a collage of photos, writing, “Nights like this make me love what I do even more… not only do I get to sing and play with my brothers, but we’re making a difference. Thank you.”

Not The Only Star To Raise Money

His post received a mountain of support from fans, with some commenting on his amazing talent. “Just saw you on Thursday in Michigan, my 5th time seeing you and you never disappoint!!! Thank you for an incredible show.”

Another person added, “He is an awesome singer and a Awesome man. So loving.”

Other than Lee Brice, singer Jelly Roll also made headlines when he donated one dollar for every ticket sale to local charities for at-risk youth. During his Backroad Baptism tour, the singer also raised over $500,000.
