At first, it seemed fate when Morgan Evans met Kelsea Ballerini first met. With both being country singers, the pair appeared head over heels for each other. And to make their love story perfect, Evans proposed to Ballerini on Christmas Day in 2016. The next year, they decided to marry in Mexico. Although happy in front of the cameras, the marriage suffered and eventually they decided to divorce. But that doesn’t mean it was amicable. With both releasing songs dedicated to their broken marriage, Evans decided to showcase a new song after Ballerini discussed her life being “out of control.”
Kelsea Ballerini Finds Peace
Although Ballerini admitted to feeling “in the weeds in a lot of things,” the singer not only found peace but apparently love. This time in the arms of actor Chase Stokes. Best known for his roles in The First and Outer Banks, Stokes started dating Ballerini in December 2022, and their relationship seems to be ongoing.
While their divorce has been extremely public thanks to them singing about it, Ballerini asked fans to respect Morgan Evans back in August. With Rolling Up The Welcome Mat released in February, the singer said, “From the deepest and purest part of my heart, I ask that you help this be ours and let the music simply be the music.”
At the time, she added, “My real hope is for us to continue growing, healing, and evolving together with acceptance and kindness even when we unleash our inner fire-breathing dragon singing the new versions of these songs.”
Morgan Evans Performs New Song
Speaking of “fire-breathing” dragons, Morgan Evans recently performed at the Sydney Opera House. Given the historical significance of the venue, the singer decided no better place than to give fans a glimpse at a song he wrote. Titled What Does That Say About You, Evans decided to dedicate the special song to well… “I’d like to dedicate this one to anyone with an ex that won’t stop talking sh*t about them.”

Without saying her name exactly, most fans can understand who Morgan Evans was referring to. As for the song, the lyrics read, “For you, I hung the moon/Then we both know what happened/So, say what you want about me/If that’s what you need to do/Say all the things we said we would keep/Just between me and you./Throw some dirt on my name./Make it hurt; take a swing/Go ahead and bend the truth/Say what you want about me/But, baby, what does that say about you?”
With Morgan Evans sharing his new song with the world, it is only a matter of time before Kelsea Ballerini addresses the single or releases one of her own.
