After years of marriage, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd made the decision to separate. What may have seemed unexpected to the public eye was actually a long time coming. This was further confirmed by insider information. What was truly happening behind the scenes?
Maren Morris And Ryan Hurd’s 5-Year Romance
Maren and Ryan have had what appeared to be a wonderful five years of marriage. Over the years, they have had great success and happiness together. Maren Morris first met Hurd in 2013 during a songwriting session, as each artist began their growth in the music industry. Two years later in December of 2015, Hurd and Morris decided to pursue a romantic relationship. Fast forward another two years to July 2017, Maren Morris anounces her engagement on Instagram. The couple shortly wed a few months later in March of 2018. Maren and Ryan spent the first year of their marriage enjoying each other’s company before thinking about extending their family. In March of 2020, the couple welcomed their first and only son, Hayes Andrew Hurd. However, on October 17, 2023, everything comes crashing down.

Maren Morris’s Relationship Behind The Scenes
Maren is not one to stay silent about her opinions. When Jason Aldean’s wife was receiving backlash for making transphobic comments, Morris joined in the backlash. When Morgan Wallen was dragged for using a racial slur, Maren condemned the artist. However, with Ryan Hurd being in the music industry and having relationships with these artists, it affected both of their careers and friendships.

When the two filed for divorce, they cited that it was because of “irreconcilable differences.” However, it has also been leaked that Maren Morris’s mental health played a huge role in the divorce. In the past, she has struggled heavily with postpartum depression leading to an identity crisis. Maren felt she needed to grow and become her true self, which unfortunately meant a life away from Ryan.

This is what the source said: “Maren has become disillusioned by a lot of things lately, their relationship being one of them.” They later continue, “Ryan always took the backseat to let Maren shine. All he wanted to do was write music, but some of the people Ryan writes with are people Maren has made mad, and it caused a huge problem between them.. They’ve been having problems for a while.”
