Rockstar Gives Dolly Parton ‘Thrill’ As Her Best Album To Date

For years, Dolly Parton has been invited to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, she kept saying that this was not something she felt she deserved. Dolly was a country singer and believed that this was an honor better meant for those in the rock genre. At the same time, she has been highly influential for so many musicians in the world, beyond country. Eventually, in 2022, Dolly was inducted and also decided she would branch out and release a rock album. Not only that but she opted to put her own spin on some of the best rock classics.

Along with some of the best performers in the world including the remaining members of The Beatles, P!nk, Miley Cyrus, and more, Rockstar was born. More so, Dolly did a soulful version of Prince’s iconic Purple Rain which fans have been playing on repeat. After decades in the music and television industry, Rockstar blew everyone away and ended up becoming Dolly’s highest-charting album ever. According to People, the musician’s 49th solo record came in at number 3 on the Billboard 200.

So, what was Miss Dolly’s reaction? The seventy-seven-year-old released a statement regarding the big news:

“Wow, this is a big thrill! I owe a thank you to the fans who have always been there for me. Their support made this achievement possible. I’d also like to thank my producer Kent Wells, all the wonderful artists, musicians, and engineers who brought their talents to this project.”

Though it came in at number three on the Billboard 200, there is better news for Dolly. Rockstar made it to number one on Billboard Top Rock Albums. Additionally, it made it to number one on Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Billboard Top Country Albums, Billboard Top Album Sales, Billboard Top Current Album Sales, and Billboard Independent Albums charts.

Making Money

Aside from coming in at number one and number three, Rockstar also raked in the most sales ever for Dolly Parton. Now, she has charted before but never this high in her long career and she has had massive hits like “Jolene” and “9 to 5.” It now is clearer than ever that she is more than worthy of being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and she should embrace this honor.
