Country singer Chris Young breaks his silence after his arrest last week. Plus, he shared the injuries he sustained during the confrontation with the Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) agents. Keep reading for all the latest.
Chris Young Breaks Silence On Arrest
Chris Young was arrested last week for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and assault on an officer. The legal trouble came after a tussle with an ABC agent.
The agent claimed in the police statement that the singer grabbed his shoulder when the agent was trying to leave the bar. The agents were checking IDs in bars in Nashville. After checking Young’s ID at one bar, the singer followed the group of agents to the next bar.
He reportedly had questions about what the non-uniformed agents were doing.
Within days of his arrest, the release of security footage showed that he didn’t do anything wrong and never made contact with the agent. The charges were dropped as a result of the video.
However, it seems that not everyone on the internet saw the video. Apparently, Chris Young has been subjected to trolls telling him that he shouldn’t have touched the officer.
He took to TikTok to set the haters straight. He shared a video of the security footage. “For all the trolls saying “don’t touch a cop”…I didn’t touch him,” he wrote on the video.

Shows Injuries From Confrontation
While Chris Young did appear to hold his hand out toward the officer, he clearly never made contact. But one agent immediately shoved him, causing the singer to stumble backward, trip over a stool, and briefly hit the floor.
After regaining his balance, the footage shows Young back away from the agents with his hands raised in submission.
The “Famous Friends” singer took to his Instagram to reveal that the fall could have been much worse. He posted a photo of his bare back with two huge red bruises. One bruise is above his elbow.
The other bruise is right above his tailbone. The text on the photo says, “Waaaaaay too close to my spine.”

His Instagram post received comments from both sides. Here are just a few of the comments supporting him:
- We back the blue but this one they got wayyyy wrong!!!!
- That was excessive use of force, you could have had a severe spinal injury from that. I feel you should sue if for no other reason than to keep this from happening to someone else.
- They were too aggressive period. I’d sue
- You could clearly see that you didn’t do anything. The officer definitely went after you. I’m glad the charges were dropped but the officer who shoved you should be charged and should issue a formal apology to you.
However, some comments still blamed Chris Young for the incident.
- Amazing how many people get drunk everyday and don’t have issues in a bar.
- You know how to avoid this? Don’t be drunk and disorderly.
- You’re not above the law. Follow the rules.
