Anyone who has heard Jelly Roll perform or even heard him speak can tell he wears his heart on his sleeve. Despite his tough guy appearance, he is an emotional man. That is probably why Kelly Clarkson made him cry.
How Did Kelly Clarkson Make Jelly Roll Cry?
It is doubtful Kelly Clarkson set the goal of making Jelly Roll cry when she selected the song for her “Kellyoke” segment on her hit daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Despite that, she did manage to make the country music superstar cry.
Clarkson’s rendition of “Save Me” brought Jelly Roll to tears. It is quite possible her cover of his hit song made others cry as well. Kelly’s cover of “Save Me” was one her most powerful renditions to date.
The “I Need A Favor” singer posted on Instagram about hearing Clarkson sing one of his biggest singles. “I would’ve never believed you if you would’ve told me that I’d write a song so impactful that (the) incredible Kelly Clarkson would deem it worthy to cover,” Jelly Roll posted. “Thank you Kelly- wow – I’m honored in a way I can’t even describe. I cried watching it.”
Kelly Clarkson’s Makes A Lot Of People Cry
Kelly Clarkson has such a powerful voice. The first-ever American Idol winner definitely has the pipes for a song like “Save Me.” Ask her fans and they will probably say she has the ability to sing almost anything and everything and bring them to tears while doing it.
Kelly has a knack for nailing the sad songs. It is difficult to imagine anyone listening to her sing “Because Of You” and not tearing up. Keith Urban didn’t just cry. He came close to breaking down. This happened when Clarkson was a special guest on American Idol. As the special guest, she sang “Piece By Piece.” Urban came very close to crying his eyes out when he heard her sign that night.
How About a Jelly Roll And Kelly Clarkson Collaboration?
Seeing how Kelly Clarkson nailed “Save Me” and Jelly Roll was brought to tears by her rendition, the two of them together would definitely create an awesome duet. Those two powerful voices, combining to sing a heart-breaking country song, would be something fans of both the megastars would love.
Although it does not appear a collaboration between the two of them is even in the works, it should be something the fans Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson ask them for. It is hard to imagine it not being a giant hit for both of them.
