Dolly Parton just can not stop herself. This country music icon and megastar does not know the meaning of slow down. To prove this, the “I Will Always Love” singer teamed up with her sister, Rachel Parton George, to create cookbook. The cookbook is titled “Good Lookin’ Cookin’.”

Dolly Parton and Rachel Parton George are only two the 11 children their parents had. They grew up together in Sevierville, Tennessee, near the Smoky Mountains.
These two sisters grew up eating their mother’s down-home cooking. They then grew up to cook that same food as adults. Dolly Parton and her younger sister are now sharing that down-home cooking with the world.
The Recipes In The Dolly Parton Cookbook
The Parton sisters have shared more than 80 of their family recipes. In “Good Lookin’ Cookin’,” cooks will find family recipes such as macaroni and cheese, spare ribs and strawberry shortcake.
The “Coat Of Many Colors” singer even included her family’s traditional Christmas chicken and dumplings recipe. This is a dish Parton still cooks every Christmas. There are also some added touches that gives insight to the Parton family’s table. One such touch is which condiment is never absent from Parton family meal. There is also the special dish Rachel Parton George makes for her older sister every year on her birthday.
Dolly Parton Is All About Family
As much as this beloved country music singer and songwriter loves her country music career, she loves her family even more. Of course, there is her love for good food. Add to that the “Jolene” singer’s love for cooking and “Good Lookin’ Cookin'” became a collaboration with her sister she could not pass up.
“I love good cooking, but not as much as I love my sister Rachel. So, getting to combine the two was a joy beyond belief for me,” Parton explained.
“Good Lookin’ Cookin'” Release Date
The cookbook Dolly Parton and Rachel Parton George created together will be released later this fall. The exact date of “Good Lookin’ Cookin'” is September 17th, 2024.
