Cher will be receiving the Icon Award. This will happen via press release at a later date. She won this due to her contributions to “music and pop culture.” The “Turn Back Time” singer has been making those contributions for more than seven decades.
Jelly Roll Introduces Lainey Wilson
It was only after starting “Save Me” as a solo performance that the country music megastar introduced Lainey Wilson. She joined him on stage for their performance.
Lainey Wilson started her part of the performance sitting on the stage. She was wearing her bellbottoms, just as expected. Her black outfit was accented with feathers on the shoulders of her top.
The two country singers alternated verses as they sang this megahit song. The candles which surrounded them on stage made the lyrics even more powerful. At the end of “Save Me,” the two singers embraced as if they were long-lost friends who had not seen each other in a very long time.
Jelly Roll Makes A Speech After Performance
Jelly Roll gave a passionate speech after his performance of “Save Me” with Lainey Wilson. As with most of his speeches, the “I Need A Favor” expressed his gratitude as well as his humble heart.
“To be one of the voices coming through your radio and to be the best new country artist and represent country music and the best new pop artist, you want to know what it means to a kid like me?” he stated.
He took a moment to reflect on the meaning of being the New Artist Of The Year. “It means that God will always use the least likely messenger with the biggest message every single time,” he explained.
With an “I love you, Jesus” and an “I love you Bunnie” as well as a shout out to his daughter Bailee Ann, Jelly Roll concluded his speech.
