Country Singer Faces Serious Jail Time After Felony Charges
Morgan Wallen was arrested earlier this month after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a bar in downtown Nashville. The chair reportedly landed near several Nashville police officers. The incident took place at Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s.
The Metro Nashville Police shared more information about the arrest on social media.
“Country artist Morgan Wallen, 30, was booked early today on 3 cts of felony reckless endangerment and 1 ct of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s Bar Sun night. The chair landed on Broadway, close to 2 MNPD officers. His bond: $15,250.”
According to legal experts, the singer could face up to six years in jail for the felony charges. He returns to court on May 3rd to face the charges.
Morgan Wallen Breaks Silence On Arrest
Nearly two weeks after his arrest, Morgan Wallen issued a public statement on Twitter on Friday, April 19. He wrote that he needed to “make amends” before publicly addressing the incident. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s,” he tweeted.

The singer added, “I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”
Gives One Night At A Time Tour Update
But what fans really want to know is if his arrest will affect the 2024 leg of his One Night At A Time tour. The tour kicked off days before his arrest with shows at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rowdy fans booed at the mention of Taylor Swift.
According to Morgan Wallen, the tour will go on uninterrupted. Interestingly enough, he is scheduled to play in Nashville, TN, on May 2 and 3, the same day he’s to appear in court.
He assured fans on Twitter, “Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”

The tour is slated to continue through August. He will also headline the Stagecoach Festival later this month. Other headliners include Miranda Lambert and Eric Church,.
Whiskey Riff reminds readers that the latest incident isn’t Morgan Wallen’s first arrest. He was previously arrested in 2020 after an incident at Kid Rock’s Nashville bar.
