Dolly Parton retired from touring because she didn’t want to be away from her husband of 57 years, Carl Dean. Her husband, 81, has faced several health problems in the last few years and she wants to be close by to nurse him back to health. So, there is a new Dolly Parton tour happening, the singer won’t appear in person.
Instead of featuring the legendary country star herself, the tour will be a “multimedia symphonic storytelling experience.” According to Variety, the tour combines Parton’s music with orchestral arrangements and visual elements. The tour is set to launch in March 2025 with the Nashville symphony.
This new tour concept allows her to do just that in a way that doesn’t require the rigors of traveling from city to city. She will feature on a screen at the venue instead of in person.
