Elle King is discussing her combative relationship with her famous father, actor Rob Schneider. He was part of the SNL cast and appeared in films such as Big Daddy, The Hot Chick, and Grown Ups. Elle King Discusses Combative Relationship With Famous Dad
Rob Schneider is hilarious in most of the roles he takes on. He has amassed fans through his various characters and people were shocked to learn that Elle King was his daughter. She has a booming and fiery singing voice and a personality to match. More so, King made her mark when she appeared drunk at Dolly Parton’s Grand Ole Opry birthday celebration. Not only was she intoxicated but she was cursing like a sailor which added insult to injury. It caused her to take a step back and figure out what her next steps were.
Now, King is opening up about everything on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast. She is not holding anything back but mostly, she is sharing what life was like being Rob Schneider’s daughter. King had been full-figured when she started her career but has since dropped a lot of weight. However, according to Variety, her father was much harsher when it came to her weight. He was also against her expressing who she was:
I was like a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp…and then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and didn’t lose any weight. I had already started getting tattooed and it was like 108 degrees. So I had to wear sweaters because my dad was very anti-tattoos or any form of self-expression.
Finally, she has come to see that he is not someone she wants to be associated with. Therefore, King does not care to mend fences with her father or have a relationship with him:
He’s just not nice. You can want someone to change so much. You can’t control anyone else’s actions and you can’t control people’s feelings. All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.
Empathizing With Elle
After learning what she had to deal with, many people came out in support of Elle King. More so, they were heartbroken for her and felt the need to express that:
