Country superstar Wynonna Judd seems to be struggling with everything going on in her life, but fortunately, she has a great support system in place. It has not been an easy few years since her mother, Naomi Judd committed suicide. Yet, she turned lemons into lemonade. Then, things just went downhill again and Wynonna is fighting her way out. Keep reading to see what she is doing and who is there, waiting in the wings.
Wynonna Judd Struggling, Support System In Place
In April 2022, Naomi Judd took her own life and that wrecked Ashley and Wynonna Judd. Though they knew she had her own issues for a very long time, they never thought it would come to this. Together, the sisters worked through the grief. At the same time, Wynonna had a big decision to make. She and Naomi were set to hit the road as The Judds, something that had not done in years. Fans were thrilled for this tour which was becoming more like an event.
Wynonna could sit it out or honor her mother with all of the adoring and loving fans every night and that is exactly what she did. She gathered the best of the best in the country world and even extended the tour. Every night was a tribute to Naomi but there were other family problems going on behind the scenes. Her twenty-eight-year-old daughter, Grace Kelley was arrested in April 2024 for indecent exposure and prostition. Grace was then arrested again in August 2024 for driving with a suspended/revoked license.
Additionally, she allegedly attempted to elude an officer and was taken in but released on a $2750 bond. Currently, Wynonna has custody of Grace’s daughter, Kaliyah, 2. This is largely due to the fact Grace has been getting in trouble for the last seven years. Between Naomi’s tragic death and Grace’s legal issues, it has taken a toll on Wynonna. According to Closer, her friends are quite concerned about her and her well-being. An insider shared this:
People are very worried about Wynonna. Dolly calls to give her pep talks. Wynonna has a lot of friends in the country community, and she needs all the help she can get.
A Long History
Wynonna Judd has been in the industry since the 1980s. That was when she and Naomi Judd formed The Judds and amassed legions of fans. Throughout her career, Wynonna has worked with top artists and, most recently, performed with Jelly Roll. She was his surprise guest at the 2023 CMAs and it was a huge deal. He noted that she does not say “yes” to most people but she wanted to do right by him. That was why she gripped his shoulder for most of the performance. Anyone who has met her has nothing but complimentary things to say so if she is struggling, she has all the love in the world behind her.
