CMA Awards Break A Country Icon

The CMAs are set to air on November 18th, 2026, on ABC. They will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be hosted by Lainey Wilson. She makes the event so much fun, and the last big event was to honor the late Dolly Parton. The best of the best in country music is ready and raring to go, but not everyone is getting the red carpet treatment-literally.

Sammy Kershaw, who has been in the industry for fifty years, was set to attend the CMAs. He and his wife, Mendy, were thrilled for the night out, and he noted that it is hard to go to these big events. There are often scheduling issues, so this was a special event that they were getting to attend. However, Sammy was shocked when he learned that his request to walk the red carpet had been denied. He stated he only wanted to do so for a few minutes, but that was not to be, even after rearranging everything and booking accommodations. Finally, Sammy does not think he will be at the CMAs again until they are paying tribute to his legacy.

Fans and followers were blown away by this. They stopped watching this show a while back, but now they’re even more livid. Moreover, they grew up with his music, so they believed he had been incredibly disrespected:

There were so many questions about how this could happen to Sammy Kershaw, especially after all he has done for music. It seemed completely unfair and uncalled for, and fans wanted to support him amid the CMA backlash:
