Garth Brooks fans want their money back. The country singer was scheduled to perform at the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena at Bass Pro Shop’s Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri. Garth showed up on time, but it wasn’t the type of concert they expected. In fact, some of the fans never made it inside the arena to watch him perform. Read on to learn more.

Concertgoers refused entry

Imagine that you’re seeing your favorite country musician in concert and you can’t get in. Per KY3, Garth Brooks fans had the exact problem. It became a nightmare situation. So much show that Bass Pro Shops had to apologize for the problems. Some of the fans had trouble getting into the concert earlier this week.

It was also a negative experience for those from the disabled community. There were thousands of fans lining up to see Garth Brooks perform. The ones who arrived early had no issues. However, the other fans who arrived late or toward the end of the concert couldn’t get in. Traffic and public transit problems were the main reasons behind their lateness.

Bass Pro Shops released a statement about the situation. They admit that they “will make it right.”

“We will make it right with folks. If they were not able to get in or got in the last song or something, we want to make it right with people. Johnny Morris is not in the business to scam people out of money. Thunder Ridge is a not-for-profit. (The) Johnny Morris Foundation and all the money raised from that concert goes back to conservation,” said Jeff Willhoit, who worked for the retailer for over 25 years, told KY3.

They hired an outside company to manage the concert. ASM Global works directly with FEMA. When Hurricane Ian hit Florida, FEMA used the shuttle buses that were meant for use for Garth Brooks’ concert.

Garth Brooks fans demand refunds

Refunds are available to Garth Brooks fans who didn’t get to attend the concert. Some of them took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the disaster. Others are looking for money back, while others had complaints to share. Here are just some of the social media posts:

Use caution when seeing @garthbrooks at ThunderRidge. We sat in traffic for 2 hrs. Waited 2 hrs for a shuttle. Did not get to the show until 9pm, and the schedule said Garth was performing until 10:45, he was done by 10:15. Paid $250 and only saw an hour. @BassProShops @kytv

Of course, this led to a heated debate on Twitter. Some fans think those who missed out on the Garth Brooks concert should lose their money. They think those people should’ve been prepared, even with the event’s poor planning. Others argued that if they didn’t see him perform, they should get a refund.
