It was a sad end when Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce after seven years of marriage to Brandon Blackstock. He had been her manager and was also the stepson of her mentor and good friend, Reba McEntire. During their time together, Kelly and Brandon had two children, River and Remy. The American Idol winner was fortunate that she had a highly successful daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, to help her through the stress of all of it. Plus, she is an amazing performer so she was able to sing her heart out on this platform. Still, it has not been easy on her or her two little ones.

Now, they are starting to have questions about love. According to Page Six, Kelly Clarkson opened up about all of this on the Podcrushed podcast. “When you do go through a divorce, especially with young kids, the definition of love comes up quite a bit,” she shared. Unfortunately, River and Remy are now asking about her love for them in a roundabout way. They asked: “So you don’t love daddy anymore?”

To that, Kelly answered: “I love that Daddy gave me you two. We just don’t like each other like we did. It’s just different now.” She went on to note that it is clear they want to know if her love for them can change, as well. Kelly Clarkson had been transparent about what she went through with her divorce. She shared that she went on Lexapro for a short time to cope with what she was going through. Fortunately, she had her music, her children, and her show to keep her going.

What’s Next For Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson has decided that it is time for a major change. Therefore, she is moving her family and her show from California to New York. She has said that it is an easy decision since her family is closer to NY. Recently, she appeared on WWHL with Cohen Andy and she seemed elated at the prospect of getting up and going. It looks like she is setting a great example for her children and hopefully, they will understand she will always love them no matter what.
