Dolly Parton’s Buffy Connection
Dolly Parton is more than just a country singer. She’s had a long career in Hollywood, starring in hit movies like 9 To 5 and Steel Magnolias. She made several appearances on Hannah Montana playing “Aunt Dolly.” In real life, she’s the godmother of the show’s star, Miley Cyrus.
In 2023, Dolly Parton turned into a rock star with her release of a rock album. However, her fame extends beyond Hollywood. She created the Imagination Library reading program that provides free books for millions of children.
Dolly Parton also has ventures in the pet apparel industry and a baking products collaboration with Duncan Hines, just to name a few.
However, what many people might not know about Dolly Parton’s role in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie and television show.
The singer owns the production company Sandollar Productions, which had a hand in producing the movie and show.
While Dolly Parton was living in Nashville when the show was filmed in California, she was “very involved.” She told Business Insider that she sent gifts to the cast and was “proud” of them.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Revival Happening Soon?

The show ran for seven seasons. Dolly Parton’s production company was also involved in the Angel spinoff featuring David Boreanaz.
When speaking to Business Insider, Dolly Parton teased news of a long-rumored revival. She said that people are “thinking about bringing it back and revamping it.”
Sarah Michelle Gellar Not Interested
But the old cast may not return for a revival. Deadline reports that lead actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has no interest in reprising her role as Buffy Summers.
The actress said a reboot “doesn’t need to be done.”
However, she might change her mind after the cancellation of her latest show. She starred in the Paramount+ show Wolf Pack. The show was previously renewed for Season 2 before it was abruptly canceled earlier this month.
