In mid-July, Morgan Wallen’s mom, Lesli Wallen, takes to her Instagram to share some exciting news. On July 12th, the Wallen family celebrated adoption day. In the caption, Lesli gives some insight into how they got to adoption day. The doting mother writes, “I never imagined what God had in store for us as we started down this road in foster care.” Lesli also writes, “I always wanted more children, God decided to wait until now!” In the series of photos, followers learn that Morgan’s newest little sister’s name is Lacey Shyann Wallen. While many Morgan Wallen fans have mixed feelings about his recent Good Morning America interview with Michael Strahan, Wallen does more than speak about his most recent controversy. Wallen shares the news of his foundation, the More Than My Hometown Foundation.
What is the foundation about?
Clearly drawing inspiration from his parents, the foundation “believes that every young person deserves the best chance at a great life, by strengthening and fostering these four pillars: FAMILY, COMMUNITY, GUIDANCE, and LOVE – we open the door for greater opportunity and home.” Furthermore, the website explains that the More Than My Home Foundation “will help young people find families that can provide warm, loving homes to ‘rebuild their confidence, self-belief, and to feel forever loved, with a forever family.”
According to Music Mayhem, in a statement on the foundation’s website, Morgan Wallen sings his parent’s praises for the good they’ve done in his new sister, Lacey’s life. Specifically, her growth and confidence. “Since my parents fostered and now officially adopted my sister Lacy, I’ve witnessed what love and care can do for a child that didn’t have it before. She has transformed into a confident, trusting and happy kid.”
