The rumors are flying that Alan Jackson has passed away at the age of 64. He has dealt with some recent health issues. What is really going on with this country superstar?
Alan Jackson’s Health Issues
Back in September of 2021, Alan Jackson revealed on Today that he was dealing with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which there is no cure for at all. Jackson would continue to deal with this illness until his death. Alan got this disease by it being passed on to him by his father. He shared a few details about it.
“There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious. And I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable.”
At the time, he shared that he had no plans to retire and also would be touring as long as he could. Jackson wasn’t going to let this hold him down. This is not deadly, though. It may cause him issues, but it won’t kill him luckily.
Is Alan Jackson Really Dead?
Luckily, Alan Jackson isn’t really dead. Instead, this was just a death hoax that was going around. He is dealing with a few health issues, but nothing that will take his life. This all started at the end of 2022 and has popped up again recently. Fans heard that Alan was dead and were shocked by this news.
Snopes shared that there were multiple Facebook posts saying that Alan was dead. The original post said, “5 minutes ago, we report extremely sad news 64-year-old singer Alan Jackson, goodbye Alan Jackson.” Luckily, this was not true at all and was totally made up to scare fans. Now it likes to circulate again every so often and worries fans once again that Jackson has passed away.

If he was dead, they would have been posting about that instead of just simply sharing a contest that the fans could be involved in. It is great to know that Alan is still alive and well!
