Luke Bryan, the 47-year-old country artist is opening up about his story and path to success. In a recent story originating from People magazine, Bryan shared a bit about his life and how he got where he is today. The quote of the day seems to be his statement: “I earned it the old-fashioned way: working my butt off. A lot of people have propped me up and helped me along the way, and I hope they can enjoy the ride too.” From just a few hundred audience members to tens of thousands, here is how Luke Bryan made it to the top.

Luke Bryan’s Humble Beginnings

Luke was born in Leesburg, Georgia, and lived with his family on a peanut farm. He started singing at a young age and had big plans to move to Nashville, Tennessee by the time he was in his 20s. However, these plans were quickly disrupted by the unexpected death of his 26-year-old brother, Chris. That kept Luke at home with his family until he graduated from Georgia Southern University. While in university, Luke Bryan also met his future wife, Caroline Boyer. Bryan talks about reflecting on his past experiences, life in college, and the hard work he has done. He states he has “a broad perspective of life from hard work to having tremendous loss.”

Making It To Nashville

Luke Bryan finally made the big move to Nashville, TN in 2001, when he was 25 years old. It was not long until he was working with a publishing house. Bryan met real success when he was 30 with his launch of “All My Friends Say” in 2007. There were a lot of years full of downtime, but Luke simply used that as a chance to grow his individuality and identity with his music.

Luke Bryan’s Genuine Love For Performing

Many people who have been to Luke’s concerts say that he clearly loves what he is doing. He is enthusiastic, and entertaining, and treats his fans more like friends. Luke Bryan said this about his career, “The day you quit loving it, it’s time to move on. Thankfully I’ve never had those feelings.” No matter the size of the crowd, he remains passionate about his work. When Bryan speaks about his music he says, “The main thing is to do your best to tell your story in the most authentic and relatable way.” He has admitted that his goal is to make people smile, and that is what got him into music. It is an inspiring sight to not only fellow musicians but to fans as well. Luke Bryan is proof that you can make anything possible if you work hard enough for it. Having the strength to reflect and look back on your struggles goes a long way too. Bryan himself said, “I look back, and I’m proud of my climb to get here.”
