Gwen Stefani Glad Blake Shelton Isn’t On The Voice
Gwen Stefani is a fan favorite, not only in her musical career as a vocalist for No Doubt and her solo career but also on the hit popular show The Voice. She first appeared on the show in 2014 as a coach and has been ever since. Her style and vocal range make sense as to why she was chosen to help up-and-coming talent.
Not only has the show helped aspiring singers, but it has also been a special part of Gwen’s personal life. It is where she met her husband, country star Blake Shelton. The couple started dating in 2015 but didn’t make it down the aisle until 2021. Together the two become a power couple in their own right. So what’s going on between them? Surely, there has to be a reason she doesn’t want to work with Blake.

Blake Shelton Is No Longer On The Voice
Last year Blake had announced that season twenty-three of the show would, unfortunately, be his last. This isn’t because the couple is on the outs, it’s actually the opposite. He just wants to spend time with his family. His decision is most likely an upset to his fans, but they will understand. After all, family does come first.
In an interview with Extra in November of last year, around the same time news hit of Blake’s departure, Gwen explained, “I think that Blake I don’t know, I think he just wants more time, you know what I mean?” That is understandable, especially when he is also a musician. She went on to say, “I don’t know that people realize, if he’s doing two seasons a year, right? In between that, he’s touring.” That’s a lot to handle, trying to juggle work life and home life. Gwen further explained, “So it’s a lot of brain power, it’s a lot of time away from the family, those kinds of things”.
So Why Is Gwen Really Happy To Not See Blake?
About two months ago, in an interview with Lorraine, Gwen Stefani made things clear. “Hopefully, it’ll give me a chance to win, so there’s that.” That would definitely be a good reason to not want her husband on the show. They were each other’s competition, so since he won’t be appearing anymore, it will give her a slight advantage. She won The Voice in 2019, However, her husband won a total of nine seasons. It’s easy to see why she is happy about his absence this time around.
Although Blake won’t be returning, Gwen Stefani will be on season 24 of The Voice. Joining her is legendary country singer Reba McEntire and Niall Horan. You can catch this season when it premieres on Monday, September 25th at 8/7c on NBC.
