Legendary Beatle Joins Dolly Parton on Song

In 2022, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted an unlikely musician – none other than icon Dolly Parton. At first, the country music singer rejected the nomination, feeling it was undeserving. However, a wave of fan support convinced her to accept the offer. She was officially inducted in late 2022, but wasn’t done rockin’.’

She promised her fans a long-awaited rock album, and boy, did she deliver. Rockstar won’t be available to purchase until November 17, 2023, but a few singles are already out there. Not only does Parton release her inner rockstar, but she teams up with some of the biggest names in the music industry today, including her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus.

The first single off Rockstar was “World on Fire,” an original song she wrote herself. Her remake of Queen’s classic “We Are the Champions,” which promotes the 2024 Paris Olympics, was released as well.

The newest single to drop from the upcoming album is her version of The Beatles’ famous song, “Let It Be.” The two surviving members – Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr –  join her on the track.

When Does Her Fashion Book Hit Bookstores?

In addition to her new album, Dolly Parton is releasing a fashion book. The book delves into her wardrobe archive. It will also feature stories of her life and career.

But you’ll have to wait a bit –Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones won’t be out until October 17, 2023.

Dolly Parton Responds to Rude Diss From Barbara Walters

Throughout her long career, Dolly Parton has been interviewed by everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Jimmy Fallon. However, a clip of her 1977 interview with Barbara Walters recently resurfaced. Fans of Dolly Parton aren’t happy with the journalist’s rude behavior toward the “9 to 5” singer. What happened?

In the interview, Walters brought up Dolly Parton’s appearance, which fans know and love as a little campy.

Parton responded by explaining her look was on purpose – a bait-and-switch to attract attention in order to show people her real personality.

However, that response wasn’t enough for the 20/20 correspondent. She pushed the singer by asking if she ever felt like a “joke.”

Whiskey Riff reports on Dolly Parton’s classy response. “I know they make fun of me, but actually all these years the people, you know, have thought the joke is on me, but it’s actually been on the public.”

Parton brushed off the jokes by saying she’s secure enough in herself and the way she looks. You can watch the full interview down below.
