The Kelly Clarkson Show just reshared a unique clip on their YouTube channel. In the video, Lainey Wilson tells Kelly Clarkson about a notable moment on stage. This interview initially took place on March 16th, 2023, but still holds a lot of meaning and fun memories. What is this momentous story?

A Short Background On Lainey Wilson

Lainey is an American country singer and songwriter. She is a 31-year-old from Baskin, Louisiana. Wilson’s career began when she came out with her debut album “Tougher” in 2016. However, the artist made her first song when she was 9 years old, which she called “Lucky Me.” Lainey Wilson hit stardom in 2021 when her single “Things A Man Outta Know” hit number 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Ever since then, the celebrity has continued to climb to success. However, the singer still manages to stay humble and down to earth. She has had many special encounters with fans, though this story clearly stood out to her the most.

A Young Lainey Wilson Fan Shares Her Story

On January 6th, 2023 a girl named Maddie shared on her TikTok that she was being bullied for dressing like Lainey Wilson. A group of peers had pulled up Maddie’s Instagram pictures and mocked her for wearing bell bottoms, boots, and tassels instead of basic leggings and crop tops.

Surprisingly, Lainey Wilson saw the post and even left a heartfelt comment.

“You do you girl!! ❤️😘 we weren’t made to fit in.. we were made to stand out.”

Fellow fans also shared their support by tagging Lainey, sharing their own stories, and encouraging Maddie to keep being herself. The post received over 300 thousand likes and 1.2 million views. Little did Maddie know, Lainey would also be picking her out of the crowd at her next local concert.

Lainey Brings Maddie On Stage

In the midst of a concert, Lainey spotted Maddie in the crowd holding a sign saying “WILL U SIGN MY FOREHEAD” in bold capitalized letters. This is something that Maddie has turned into a tradition for many other concerts. Lainey Wilson was certainly not the last country artist to sign the girl’s forehead.

Immediately the country artist recognized her young friend and called her to the stage. The crowd parted quickly for Maddie as she made her way towards Wilson. Once Maddie was on stage, Lainey explained that she had seen the girl on TikTok sharing that she had been harassed. The crowd cheered for Maddie, loving the outfit she was wearing.

“I can’t believe I’m about to sign your pretty face, are you sure?” Lainey Wilson asks before pulling out a marker. She kisses Maddie’s forehead and then happily signs her name across it. Then, unexpectedly, the star said, “I’m going to have her sign my forehead,” and the crowd went wild.

“It made my night,” Lainey tells Kelly Clarkson when reliving this New York City performance. Maddie of course, was through the roof seeing that she made it on the show. This is a memory that will stay with the two for years to come. It was uplifting when the show reuploaded the clip 3 days ago.
