Oklahoma Police Dept Shows Appreciation For Jelly Roll

Country singer Jelly Roll took time out of his recent concert in Oklahoma City to honor a fallen police officer. The officer was killed in June 2022. He was struck by a utility truck while in the line of duty.

Who Was The Fallen Police Officer?

Sgt. C.J. Lewis was the fallen police officer honored on September 19 during the “I Need A Favor” singer’s concert in Oklahoma. He was a 13-year veteran of the Edmond Police Department. Edmond is located just north of Oklahoma and it is considered to be a part of the Greater Oklahoma City Metro Area.

According to the Edmond Police Department, Sgt. Lewis was the first officer in the history of the department to be killed in the line of duty. The driver of the truck is currently facing first-degree manslaughter. The court case is still ongoing.

Jelly Roll’s Shout Out

During his concert at the PayCom Center, the country music star took time out to speak with fans between songs. It was during one such break, Jelly Roll noticed a memorial shirt someone in the audience was wearing. The shirt was honoring Sgt. C.J. Lewis.

“I want to say rest in peace to C.J.” the “I Need A Favor” singer said. “I love you and I’m glad your family’s here. I’m praying for y’all.”

Jelly Roll Now Wanted By The Edmond Police

Jelly Roll is now wanted by the Edmond Police Department. They want to reach out to the country star in order to give him one of the memorial shirts like the one he saw in the audience. They also want to thank him for honoring Sgt. C.J. Lewis during his concert.

With his past, it might be surprising to some to know Jelly Roll is wanted by the police for something good. He is no longer the man he once was. Jelly Roll has turned his life around and is living proof it is possible for people to change. Thankfully, he gave up the life of drug abuse and being wanted by the police for crimes he committed to become one of the most loved country music stars of his time.
