With the Grand Ole Opry sacred ground to both country singers and fans, it seemed the perfect place to host the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards. And with it being the first spin-off of the People’s Choice Awards, every country legend and star attended. Among the stars, Toby Keith, received the Country Icon award while Jelly Roll won the Male Artist of 2023 award. Besides honoring stars like Wynonna Judd, Kane Brown performed on the historic stage, singing Bury Me In Georgia. Thrilled and proud of her husband, Kane’s wife, Katelyn, couldn’t help but post a heartfelt message about his dedication to country music.
At only 29 years old, Kane Brown wasted no time making a name for himself. In 2015, he released his first EP, Closer. The following year, he signed with RCA Nashville and produced another EP. By 2017, the country world knew Brown’s name as he became the first artist to have number-one hits on all five Billboard country charts at the same time. Again, just getting started, his second album, Experiment, landed him his first number-one album on the Billboard 200.
Mixing Love And Success
While breaking into the industry, Kane Brown found love in the hands of Katelyn. The pair later married in 2018 after Brown proposed to her on Easter Sunday. With a few hundred people in attendance, the couple pronounced their love for each other. The small family grew to include two children by 2022. Now, with a prospering career and a loving family, Katelyn decided to take to social media, sharing the dedication and foresight of her husband, Kane. She wrote on Instagram, “When your in your own lane, there’s no traffic. Proud of you, Kane Brown.” The singer replied, calling her his angel.
As mentioned above, Kane Brown did more than attend the 2023 People’s Country Choice Awards at the Grand Ole Opry. Seeing the moment as an honor, Brown decided to sing his hit song, Bury Me In Georgia. Growing up in Georgia, the singer admitted, “‘Bury Me In Georgia’ just a song, you know, about the home state that I grew up in. That’s where I want to go whenever it’s my time. Especially the Georgia Bulldogs, they on top of it right now about three-peat so anyway, no, Georgia is just, you know, it’s always gonna place in my heart.”
Kane Brown Honors Music Icon
Following the song about his home state, Kane Brown released I Can Feel It, which he credited legendary artist Phil Collins for inspiration. “It’s a legendary drum fill and it’s a legendary song. There’s no way I could not do that. I’m the type of guy that I don’t like to screw anybody over. I feel like good karma is, that’s what’s going to keep you going in life. Even if it was a new guy that was working at a small store nobody knew about, I’d definitely give him writer’s credit…Phil could have said no, so I’m glad that he let me use the song.”
