Trisha Yearwood Talks Marriage To Garth Brooks And Career

In 2005, in front of a crowd 0f 7,000 people, Garth Brooks proposed to his love, Trisha Yearwood. Just a few months later in December, the pair married in Oklahoma. Since then, the pair have been somewhat inseparable as they juggle careers, parenthood, and keeping that spark alive. Yearwood once admitted that during a year, the couple spends maybe “five days” apart. Recently, the three-time Grammy winner discussed her upcoming album, being married to one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks worked with Habitat for Humanity on annual projects. While named Habitat Humanitarians in 2016, the singer detailed how she and her husband worked with former president Jimmy Carter and the former first lady on every project. Sadly, the former president skipped their latest project due to health reasons. Although missing, the affordable housing project celebrated its start on Carter’s 99th birthday. They even sang Happy Birthday to him. Detailing the hard work involved, Yearwood noted, “Well, we’re sore. We’re all here for the same reason, which is to help everybody have a roof over their head. So, it’s a great cause. It’s a great experience.”

From Volunteering To Vegas

Taking a trip down memory lane, Trisha Yearwood praised putting her marriage to Brooks in front of her career. “We got married almost 18 years ago to be together, to not be apart. So, whoever’s touring the other one is there, whether they’re on stage or not. So, we work together all the time.”

Currently, Garth Brooks holds a Las Vegas residency that extends into 2024. Trisha Yearwood explained how it was a “moment of magic” for the couple. “We’ve been pretty lucky in the fact that everything we do comes back to people loving people. Inclusion, inclusion, inclusion. This is the perfect example of it. If you come to Vegas, you’ll see a room full of it, and I’m very lucky to get to play for those people.”

Trisha Yearwood Overcomes Fear Of Writing

As for her own career, Trisha Yearwood shared the challenges of writing for her new album. A seasoned professional, the singer revealed at a young age, she received a mountain of praise for her singing and criticism for her writing. Now, at 59, Yearwood declared, “It’s still hard for me, but I’m doing it. I’m always nervous when I go, but I get a little less nervous every time. It’s just been really good. I’m so excited about it.”

Giving a glimpse into what fans might expect, Trisha Yearwood shared one of the song focuses on her mother, Gwen, who sadly passed away in 2011. This will be Yeardwood’s first album since 2019 when she released Every Girl.
