Although many know Chris Stapleton as a singer, the artist amassed a staggering 170 song credits for either writing or co-writing them. That doesn’t even begin to encompass the music star as he won eight Grammy Awards and ten Academy of Country Music Awards. And he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon with his new album Higher set to release later this year. But while the singer is currently fixated on his All-American Road Show, news broke that the country star needed to postpone three shows after a mysterious illness.
Breaking into the industry back in 2001, Chris Stapleton proved how much he cared about fans and his music. The singer, on numerous occasions, took time out of his schedule to meet fans, take pictures, and even break up fights. His love for music, the stage, and fans led him to rank on the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.
Chris Stapleton Thankful To Fans
Ahead of three upcoming shows in Texas and Louisiana, Chris Stapleton took to social media to share some rather disappointing news. He wrote, “To all my friends in Corpus Christi, Houston, and Lafayette, I am very sorry to let you all know that I am unable to perform this weekend’s shows. I have bronchitis and laryngitis, and on doctor’s orders am on vocal rest through the weekend in order to heal.”
All tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

While battling through his illness, Chris Stapleton still focused on his fans, adding, “I’m grateful for your patience and understanding, and hope to see you all in November.”
With the three shows postponed until November, fans hoping to see Chris Stapleton can either wait until the new dates, which are November 16-18, or they can request a full refund within the next seven days. According to Stapleton’s website, the new dates will include an appearance from singer Nikki Lane.
Considered A World Class Musical Citizen
Back in June, Chris Stapleton traveled on his tour to the Wells Fargo Arena in Iowa. Besides singers like Nikki Lane, the country star welcomed Marty Stuart to open for him. A member of the Grand Ole Opry, Stuart praised the musical talents of Stapleton, saying, “There’s Chris and then there’s everybody else. He is just so far ahead of the pack; he’s so brilliantly gifted and what a singer!” He added, “The thing we share in common is he is a world-class musical citizen. He loves everything, and he is a sponge when it comes to talking music…”

While Chris Stapleton enjoys collaborating and covers, he noted back in July that his new album Higher doesn’t include either. He said, “Usually we include a cover or two on a record … It wasn’t necessarily an intent, it was just what happened, so, we’ll see how that goes.”
