For singers, the road to releasing a new album is scattered with ideas, hopes, and even forgotten songs. Although fans rarely know which songs made it and which were cut, sometimes a song sticks out so much that it leaves one wondering why it didn’t hit the airways. For Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton, 2023 has been a good year. Both received nominations at the 58th annual AMC Awards, and Stapleton prepares for the release of his latest album, Higher. But beyond sharing the stage, both singers collaborated on a song so unique that it has fans wanting more.

Throughout the history of country music, there have been more than a few songs to catch the eyes of fans. In 1968, while playing in front of inmates, Johnny Cash played “Cocaine Blues,” which focused on cocaine and murder. Johnny Paycheck once performed Take This Job and Shove It.” While fans listened to each of these songs performed, apparently, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton wrote a song called “Somebody Winds Up Pregnant” that never came out.

The Hit That Nobody Heard

Before singers release a song, they tend to register it with companies like BMI. The company works with artists on royalties, licensing, and ensuring the song’s ownership is in the right hands. While the site doesn’t thrill most, finding a song titled “Somebody Winds Up Pregnant” has some wondering just what the lyrics were. Looking at Miranda Lambert, she released her latest album Palomino in 2022. And not that surprising, the song wasn’t listed. And knowing the lineup of Chris Stapleton’s upcoming album Higher, again – no sign on “Somebody Winds Up Pregnant.”

Besides writing a secret song that needs to be released, the pair teamed up at the 2021 ACM Awards to perform the hit “Maggie’s Song.” With the pair working seamlessly together, it makes the curiosity around Somebody Winds Up Pregnant” even more enticing. While the song may end up in the graveyard for forgotten titles, one can imagine what a music video might look like.

Although the title sounds like a hit for sure, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert are doing just fine. At the Academy of Country Music Awards, Stapleton received the honor of Entertainer of the Year. As for Lambert, she found herself in the Female Artist of the Year category, which went to Lainey Wilson. Still, in 2022, Lambert landed on the 100 Most Influential People according to Time.

Chris Stapleton Works With Another Famous Singer

Other than working alongside Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton also collaborated with Snoop Dogg for Monday Night Football. With the NFL in full swing, the pair released a cover of Phil Collins’ famous song “In the Air Tonight.” Football players seemed to enjoy the cover with Tery McLaurin of the Washington Commaders, saying, “I don’t care if you are the home team, the away team, you are hearing that song no matter what.”
