For almost four decades, Luke Bryan has toured the country, sold over 75 million albums, and received the Album of the Decade award. Needless to say, when it comes to country music – the singer knows what he is doing. But with fame also comes a great deal of criticism. And over the years, Bryan received a great deal of backlash for doing nothing more than speaking his mind. But recently, one critic seemed to strike a nerve with the country artist for suggesting he “peaked” and his concert in Minnesota last weekend was “aimless.”
Giving a quick history of the backlash Luke Bryan endured over just the last few years, in January 2022 the singer introduced Dustin Lynch to the crowd. He said, “No one has drank more liquor, no one has vomited more, no one has taken more drugs, no one has taken more IVs, no one has passed more STD tests than this next gentleman.” After fans voiced their disdain for his words, Bryan took to Instagram to clear the air, suggesting the introduction was nothing but humor. “I’ve spoke to Dustin, I love him, he and I are all good, and I apologize to anybody that doesn’t understand my humor and sarcasm.”
Taking On The Critics
That same year, Luke Bryan found himself at the center of controversy yet again when he welcomed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to the stage. Given the political climate at the time, some took offense. Once again, Bryan explained himself, insisting, “I understand Governor Desantis is a very polarizing figure. But I grew up in a country where if a governor asks you if they can come and raise awareness to help victims of a natural disaster you help.” At the time, thousands of families were recovering from the devastation left behind by Hurricane Ian.
Wow. I’ve never received one positive review from y’all’s publication since I’ve been to the twin cities area in my whole career. The trend continues. The sold out crowd had a great time.

While staying out of the spotlight these last few months, Luke Bryan didn’t shy away from the St. Paul Pioneer Press reviewing his concert at the Xcel Energy Center. The writer described the entire concert as a mess and even suggested that the venue was smaller than usual and many seats were left empty. Catching his eyes, Bryan fired back at the article, which sits behind a paywall, writing, “Wow. I’ve never received one positive review from y’all’s publication since I’ve been to the twin cities area in my whole career. The trend continues. The sold out crowd had a great time.”
Luke Bryan Fans Weigh In
To add to the criticism, another country music blog, Saving Country Music, praised the review. Bryan also shared his thoughts with them, writing, “You can kiss my ass too.” He added, “The phoned in thing got me me mad. Hell. I’m 47. Some nights my damn knees hurt. However. Y’all gotta job too do. Got get some followers. Been 10 years since my last twitter war. Peace and I love everyone.”

Although the critics gave Luke Bryan a negative review, fans at the concert expressed their own reviews. “I was at the show! This was my 7th show and it didn’t disappoint!! I brought my middle daughter for her 18th birthday and we both had a great time! You put on a great show as always, you’re down to earth and keep the fans engaged!!” Another said, “I’ve been to several of shows and this was the first that I was able to have floor seats and you had that place rocking the entire night! It was amazing.”
