It has been a successful year for Lainey Wilson after the release of her newest album, Bell Bottom Country. In a recent interview with American Songwriter, she shares her appreciation for the past 12 months.
Lainey Wilson Releases Bell Bottom Country
Lainey is an artist well-established in the country music industry who is well known for her song “Heart Like A Truck” alongside many others. Wilson’s fashion taste is also a unique trait that many fans adore. She always takes the stage wearing tight-fitted bell bottoms and a simple hat. With that in mind, it makes sense she titled her newest studio album Bell Bottom Country.
#BellBottomCountry is out! Bell bottom country is country with a flare. It’s about what makes you & me unique. It’s how we live our lives & tell our stories. I’ve lived quite a bit of life & have some stories to share with this record. I hope y’all dig it! https://t.co/w7Yp6tI7OU pic.twitter.com/7cilQJi0Zr

This album came out on October 28th, 2022, a year ago from yesterday. This is only Lainey Wilson’s fourth album overall, even though she had started her career nearly 10 years ago. The collection includes a total of 15 songs, though some were more well-received than others. The arguably most notable song in the album would be “Watermelon Moonshine.”
Lainey Wilson Speaks About Anniversary
During a fan meet and greet on October 27th, Lainey opened up about life since the release of Bell Bottom Country. She tells American Songwriter, “…It’s just been blessing after blessing. It has been an evolution. There are extreme highs and extreme lows, they were right about that. But you just saddle back and get back on, it’s true. It’s hard to be happy all the time when you’re just tired. But still, when I do get really tired I’m just like, ‘These are the days that we’re gonna talk about.’ I’m thankful to have a job to be tired…”
As far as future plans go, this is what Lainey had to say: ” …next year is gonna be a lot more manageable. We’re playing half the amount of shows probably. I’m ready to get back in the studio. We’re getting in there in November and cutting songs… I’m just excited to create. I’m ready for those creative juices to start flowing in the studio…It’s gonna be the same vibe but a different vibe. I want every project to represent something different and we’re just trying to figure that out right now. We might not know until we get into the studio.”
Happy 1st Birthday to #BellBottomCountry ❤️ Y’all made some pretty crazy dreams come true. Thank you to the songwriters, musicians, and to my producer, Jay Joyce, who helped bring it to life. Y’all can watch the “Making Of Bell Bottom Country” video now. https://t.co/7hPqGfmq3G

She then goes on to explain that she is planning to collaborate with fellow artists for a lot of her upcoming music. “I’m trying to make sure that that I’m not just writing with the same folks only, trying to make sure that I keep my hands in different songwriting [circles] throughout the community.” It will be exciting to see what is to come from Lainey Wilson, as she clearly has some big projects planned.
How would you rate Bell Bottom Country on a scale of 1 to 10? What is the best song on the album?
