As you know, Jelly Roll has so many things to be thankful for this holiday season and, he doesn’t fail to recognize all he has to be thankful for. Recently he spoke out about it all.

He recently won New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards and was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. Jelly has mentioned he is eating better, losing weight, drinking plenty of water, and has slowed down on his drinking, but, he still drinks.

He then laughed and stated, “When I drink, I still drink a lot, but, I’m doing better than I’ve ever done,” indicating he has so much to celebrate.

How He Celebrated

Jelly wanted to give back to his community in his hometown by starting a toy drive. He wants his toy drive to become the largest one in Nashville’s history. He stated” I grew up here, and I really take a lot of pride in that. And my spirit is always to give back. Who would I be to be so blessed and not turn around and try to be a blessing to others?” Fans love seeing this side of him.

Idea For The Toy Drive

The idea for the toy drive stemmed from his teenage daughter, Bailee Ann. She came up with the toy drive on her own on a small scale with her aunt four or five years ago in White House, Tennessee. The toy drive was named Buddy’s Toy Drive in honor of her late grandfather, Jelly Roll’s father. When Jelly’s career took off, he decided he wanted to give Buddy’s Toy Drive a larger platform. Hasbro, Walmart, The Nashville Fire Department, the Nashville Predators, and many more joined the cause.
