Well, ‘’argh” and “shiver me timbers!” Who knew Dolly Parton had so much in common with Captain Jack Sparrow?

Even though the global ambassador for goodness constantly extols her Tennessee roots in the Smoky Mountains, Dolly Parton creates fun wherever she goes. For now, the What’s Up artist has more pots on her project fire than fiery Chef Gordon Ramsay, and surprisingly, none of them have to do with music. Instead, the unparalleled and prolific songwriter who just savored the success of a #1 album with Rockstar is turning her attention to new properties and real estate ventures.

As announced via KFYR TV, Dolly Parton is giddy about breaking ground in the Sunshine State of Florida for some swashbuckling delight. Read on to discover the details of the latest venture and adventure for fans dreamed up by Dolly. It won’t be long until it’s time to book flights!

Dolly Parton always dreams big

From her childhood, Dolly Parton believed in the biggest dream possible. Regardless of whether it was the red shoes she yearned for from a catalog, based on the real-life ones her aunt Lucille wore, that became a song, or becoming the phenomenal performer and person she is, no small dreams do the trick.

“Everyone knows that I dream big,” Dolly Parton declares of the venue located in Panama City Beach. Naturally, the mountain girl turned sea captain assures “We are going overboard with the details. As we prepare everything, from the show to the four-course Pirates feast to the exterior of the building itself.”

As always, the Shine songwriter isn’t wasting one second in bringing her dream to reality. “I told my folks to get started as soon as possible, so we are breaking ground for construction in January,” Parton verifies. Florida winters are much friendlier to builders.

Family fun at its best

This latest location marks the third Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show outing for Dolly Parton, with other productions located in Pigeon Forge, TN, and Myrtle Beach, SC. Incredibly, cast members take audiences from the water to the skies, thanks to the constructed 15-foot deep lagoon as a centerpiece of the show. Along with aerial artists, sword battles between the Crimson and the Sapphires steal attention on deck.

“It’s a show that’s perfect for all ages,” Dolly Parton proudly declares. She elaborates that the mix of “Pirates, mermaids, exciting acrobatics, and even a few songs I wrote” creates a perfect new experience for Florida residents and visitors to Pier Park in Panama City Beach.

Already this year, her HeartSong Lodge & Resort opened just in time for Christmas. It’s more rustic and nature-centered themes hearken back to Dolly Parton’s childhood– including a few bears painted in murals on the walls.

So much more than entertainment

Throughout her more than six-decade career, Dolly Parton holds to the mindset of “act like a lady, but think like a man.” This philosophy applies particularly in the boardroom, where business deals take shape. This latest incarnation of the Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show will inhabit a 60,000-square-foot theater with 1000 seats. Smiling and satisfied guests in those seats mean 300 jobs to the local community. With shows running since 1988, this is no pirate’s gamble.

Dollywood is a privately owned and managed operation. Thus, some typical public records are not readily available. Still, estimates range from $100 million to 500 million generated annually from the massive entertainment complex, opened in 1986 from the previous Silver Dollar City. More than 1000 employees make decent living wages from that endeavor, many of them for generations now.

Dolly Parton gives freely and thinks wisely in terms of taking care of those she considers “my people.” Her life gives her an understanding of all points on the wage spectrum and the awareness that living with purpose matters most. Soon, she will welcome added family from Florida.
