Richie Sambora is the latest musician to gush over Dolly Parton. He can’t hide his love for the iconic singer. Keep reading to find out more about this surprising connection.
Richie Sambora Addresses Possibility Of Bon Jovi Reunion
It’s been ten years since Richie Sambora unceremoniously left the popular 80s rock band Bon Jovi. He co-founded the New Jersey band with Jon Bon Jovi four decades ago.
The reason for the guitarist’s departure has been a source of debate since his 2013 exit. Jon Bon Jovi has alluded to Sambora’s past alcohol addiction as part of the cause.
However, Richie Sambora stands by his assertion that he left the band to focus on his daughter Ava, whom he shares with ex-wife Heather Locklear.
Since his exit from Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora has focused on his solo music career. But in an interview last month, he gave Bon Jovi fans hope of a reunion.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, he said that a reunion “definitely could happen.” Sambora added that now is the perfect time as the band is celebrating their 40th anniversary.
“It’s just a question of when everybody’s ready to go do it.”
Whether the Bon Jovi reunion pans out or not, Richie Sambora will continue to make music and collaborate with legends like Dolly Parton.
Richie Sambora Can’t Hide His Love For Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton released her album of rock covers last month, and as expected, it was a huge success. The album featured some of the top artists in the music industry, including the surviving members of The Beatles.
Rockstar also features a stunning tribute to the late musician Prince.
Dolly Parton enlisted Richie Sambora for the opening title track. He recently spoke to Louder about the surprising collaboration.
He said that Parton and her producer “left it on me to do what I do, to make that kind of record come to life.” He added that he used “talk-box guitar” on the “Rockstar” song. Sambora also provided background vocals.
The veteran musician said the process was “quick,” which, in his experience, “means it was supposed to be.”
But this isn’t the first time Dolly Parton and Richie Sambora worked together. The Bon Jovi alum made a surprise appearance during the legendary singer’s set at the British music festival Glastonbury in 2013.
They performed the Bon Jovi song “Lay Your Hands On Me” together.
So, of course, when Dolly Parton reached out about her rock album, Richie Sambora jumped at the chance. “It’s kind of impossible to describe her. She’s a phenomenon,” he gushed about the “9 to 5” singer.
As for those critics who say Dolly Parton isn’t a rock star, he had this to say: “If you’re not a fan of Dolly, you don’t understand music very much.”
