Wynonna Judd has been making the most out of the tour that was supposed to include her mother, Naomi. Unfortunately, Naomi Judd took her own life in April. That being said, Wynonna could have canceled their final tour altogether. However, she chose to keep going, not just for herself but for her fans. They have been her strength throughout these very hard times. As the tour progresses, Judd continues to open up about dealing with her mother’s passing. Furthermore, she is opening up about how Naomi still finds ways to contact her, even from heaven.

Wynonna Judd ‘Talks Back’ To Naomi While On Tour

Every night, these shows have become like parties for Wynonna and her fans. She says seeing all of the generations surrounding her is such a special and emotional thing. On stage are her fellow country stars such as Martina McBride, Little Big Town, and Kelsea Ballerini. It has been going so well that the tour has now been extended into 2023. Now, according to Taste Of Country, Wynonna has another revelation from her tour.

Yes, she does a sweet tribute to Naomi at the end of each show. It is a slideshow of the two of them performing together. However, Wynonna admits that she can feel her mother around her when she performs. At times, she feels her speaking to her.”There will be moments when I feel her going, ‘You have on too much makeup,’ or, ‘You need to lose weight.’ And then I realize, ‘No.’ And I talk back to her. Because she’s my mom. That’s what we did,” Wynonna shares.

The two had a contentious relationship for many years. Yet, Wynonna only wished she had known how bad off her mother was when she took her own life by gunshot. Ultimately, the tragedy has brought Wynonna and her sister, actress Ashley Judd far closer than ever. They can lean on each other and laugh at the reports that they are bickering over Naomi’s estate.

Same Ole

Wynonna Judd jokes that she has changed her ways in spite of her mother’s passing. Admittedly, she used to do some stuff just to make Naomi angry. “I’m on time now, so she can’t bi–h at me anymore about that. I’m chronically on time. I used to be late just to make her mad. Some things never change. That was my way of controlling. I don’t think the relationship ever ends. Even though she’s gone, I still talk to her, and I say things like, ‘Why aren’t you here so I can argue with you?'” Wynonna is carrying Naomi as much as she can on this tour and it seems that her mom is a guiding force in a very interesting way.
