It’s Reba’s world, and we’re just living in it! Reba McEntire has a new book, a brand new album, a cushy gig on NBC’s The Voice, and this month marks the 22nd anniversary since her sitcom Reba premiered. Keep reading to find out more about her stipped-down new album featuring another country legend.
Reba McEntire Rules The Voice
Fans of NBC’s music competition were devastated when Blake Shelton announced he was leaving after Season 23. Shelton has been a coach on The Voice since the very beginning.
The network brought in country music icon Reba McEntire to replace the country crooner. She joins Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Niall Horan in the red swivel chairs.

Season 24 just premiered last month, and we’re still in the blind audition portion of the show. On Night 1, one hopeful covered Reba McEntire’s hit “Fancy” and got all four chairs to turn.

New Stripped-Down Album Featuring Country Legend
October is a great month to be a Reba McEntire fan. She has a new lifestyle book coming out on Oct. 10 that’s full of lessons she’s learned in her 68 years. Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots includes everything from travel tips to her favorite foods.
The book release corresponds with a new album released on Friday, Oct. 6. Titled Not That Fancy, it gives listeners a new side of the singer they’ve never heard before.
American Songwriter reports that the new album features 13 of Reba McEntire’s biggest hits, but the twist is they’re all acoustic. The album includes two of her most famous songs, “Fancy” and her sitcom theme song, “I’m A Survivor.”
It also features some of her other hits, including “Till You Love Me” and “If You See Him, If You See Her,” which features Brooks & Dunn. But the iconic country duo aren’t the only legends on the album.
Not That Fancy offers listeners a new version of the duet “Does He Love You” with a new collaborator. The song previously featured Linda Davis and Kelly Clarkson in different versions. The new stripped-down version features the incomparable Dolly Parton.
The song and video were actually released a year ago, but it’s also part of Reba’s new album.

Reba McEntire Releases Heartbreaking New Song
You may notice that one song on the new album isn’t listed as acoustic, nor have fans heard it before. That’s right – Reba McEntire’s new album features a brand-new song, and it’s a tearjerker.
In “Seven Minutes In Heaven,” McEntire sings of what she would do if she could visit heaven. “I wouldn’t ask Cash why he wore all black/Or have Elvis sing me a song/I wouldn’t ask why Kennedy died/’Cause I know that I wouldn’t have long,” the song starts.
“I wouldn’t small talk with Peter by them pearly gates/I’d ask him to let me on in/And I’d say there’s somebody waiting on the other side/That I’d really like to catch up with,” Reba McEntire sings.
But it’s the chorus that hits you right in the feels:
“If I had seven minutes in Heaven/I know just what I’d do/Take a walk down those golden streets/And find a quiet corner booth/I wouldn’t spend all my seconds asking God questions/’Cause He knows I’ll be back soon/If I had seven minutes in Heaven/I’d spend them all with you.
The music video premiered on Oct. 7. It features Reba McEntire sitting in a booth with someone we only see from the back. Given her red hair and wrinkled hands, it’s implied the woman is her mother.
At the end of the emotional video, McEntire mouths, “Love you, Mom,” and a picture of her real-life mother fills the screen. You can watch the video below.
