When it comes to females in country music, there is no denying talents like Shania Twain, Patsy Cline, and Reba McEntire, but when talking about the iconic, stylish, and unstoppable Dolly Parton – well, she is in a class of her own. Since the late 1950s, the country singer showed just what she could do. Her voice led to 11 Grammys, the silver screen, and owning her own theme park. But with all the fame and glamour, what makes Dolly is her humbleness, love, and of course, her wigs. While Dolly promoted her new book, Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, the singer discussed her famous outfits and the massive number of wigs she has.

Scheduled for release on October 17, Dolly’s new book gives fans an inside look into her vibrant history with over 450 photos centered around her iconic looks. Some of her memorable outfits included the one from Heartbreaker. Created by seamstress Lucy Adams in 1978, the star fitted Dolly in a stylish pink gown accompanied by a touch of lace.  Just a few years later in 1984, Dolly wore a stunning white gown with beads for the premiere of Rhinestone. Not to mention she walked alongside Hollywood legend, Sylvester Stallone.

Almost Every Day

Besides her vibrant wardrobe, Dolly Parton’s love for wigs has become a part of her brand. She told ET‘s Rachel Smith, that somebody once asked her how many wigs does she own. The singer laughed, recalling her answer. “I said, ‘Well, I must have at least 365, because I wear one almost every day.'” Be sure to check out the interview HERE.

Although Dolly Parton loves her wigs, she admitted that her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, doesn’t share the same opinion. Liking her natural look, Dolly noted, “I keep my own hair about the same length, and I keep it bleached, and my roots done up. When I’m around home or whatever, when I’m comfortable, but I still pull my hair up.”

Fashioning her look off of the “town tramp” as she called it, Dolly insisted that her image had to deal with her feeling “good” more than having people look at her.  “I just wanted to be more flamboyant. I just wanted to dress according to how I felt. It was more important that I be comfortable inside of myself. I just felt better in me to look that way. It just gave me a little extra confidence.”

Dolly Parton Remembers Family Helping Out

While her fashion stayed the same, Dolly Parton discussed how in the beginning, her family helped create her look. “I started out in business when I was 10 years old. And so my aunts, my mom, different people would make things for me.”

After breaking into the industry, Dolly upgraded to the glitz and glamour she is known for today. Would you love for Dolly Parton to style your look? Share your answers in the comment section below.
