Dolly Parton covers the 4 Non Blondes hit “What’s Up” on her new rock album. Now she’s giving fans a peek behind the music video featuring Linda Perry. Keep reading for all the details.

Dolly Parton Weighs In On Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is the talk of the country but once again, it’s for her dating life and not her music. She’s rumored to be dating Kansas City Chiefs football star Travis Kelce. The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer isn’t helping rumors by attending Chiefs games and cheering her rumored beau on from the VIP box.

She brought along some of her celeb friends for one game, including power couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

Taylor Swift’s alleged new romance comes six months after her split from Joe Alywyn after six years together.

The singer’s romantic life is overshadowing one of her biggest career milestones. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie is premiering in theaters worldwide on October 13.

But for Dolly Parton, it’s all about the music. She praised Swift in a recent interview with Taste of Country. The country music legend said, “She’s killing it. I’ve never seen anything like it. Yay Taylor, you go!”

New Album Frees Country Icon’s Inner Rock Star

However, Taylor Swift shouldn’t expect Dolly Parton to be in the audience. “I honestly have to say, I work so hard that I don’t even get to follow some of the young people, but I always just wish ’em the best,” she told the outlet.

In addition to her new fashion book – Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones – coming out this month, Dolly Parton has a new album dropping in November. After her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Dolly Parton promised to release a rock album.

She’s making good on that promise with Rockstar, a massive 30-track album that features a Who’s Who of music as Parton covers some of the greatest rock songs.

Former members of The Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, join Dolly Parton as she covers “Let It Be.” Other big names include Elton John, Melissa Etheridge, Ann Wilson, and Pat Benatar. Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora accompanies Dolly Parton on the title track, “Rockstar.”

However, Dolly Parton retired from touring, so fans won’t get to see her on the road to promote her new album. Instead, she’s been heavily promoting it on social media, including a look behind the scenes of filming the music video for “What’s Up?”

Dolly Parton Takes Fans Behind The Scenes Of ‘What’s Up’ Video Shoot With Linda Perry

In 1993, the band 4 Non Blondes released the song “What’s Up?” and it quickly gained popularity in the US and hit No. 1 on charts in Europe. It was the band’s biggest hit before disbanding a year later when lead singer, Linda Perry, left the group.

Perry has gone on to write songs for some of today’s biggest artists, including Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, and Celine Dion.

Dolly Parton’s rendition of the 1993 hit features Linda Perry, and she also appears in the newly-released music video.

The video was filmed in a school library and features the 4 Non Blondes singer playing acoustic guitar in a bathtub in the middle of room. In a new video posted on her Instagram, Dolly Parton jokes that she’s not in a bathtub because she’s not “lazy” like Perry.

The “9 to 5” singer also shared a few behind-the-scenes snapshots of the video shoot. Fans couldn’t help but compare the multi-colored coat Dolly Parton wears in the video to the “coat of many colors.”

Dolly, your jacket brings to mind the coat your mother made for you as a child,” one fan wrote in response to the photos.
