How Brittany Aldean’s Feud With Maren Morris Started
Brittany Kerr has been a hot rod for controversy practically since she first came into the spotlight. In 2012, she auditioned for Season 11 of American Idol.
However, that’s not what people remember about her. That same year, she was caught kissing country singer Jason Aldean in a bar, despite him being married to someone else at the time.
The “Asphalt Cowboy” singer publicly apologized to his then-wife, claiming he left the bar alone. However, less than a year later, he filed for divorce.
In 2015, Brittany Kerr became Brittany Aldean.
The feud with Maren Morris kicked off in 2022 with a social media post from Brittany Aldean that many viewed as anti-trans. “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase.”
Cassadee Pope took issue with Brittany Aldean’s post and called her out on Twitter. Maren Morris joined the fray by replying to Pope, calling Aldean a “scumbag” and dubbing her “Insurrection Barbie,” per Us Weekly.
The two will clearly never be friends, but their feud seemed to cool for a while…until Brittany Aldean fired another shot this week.
Maren Morris, Husband File For Divorce
Maren Morris married country singer Ryan Hurd in 2018. They welcomed a son, Hayes, two years later.
Sadly, multiple media outlets reported earlier this week that Morris filed for divorce in early October, citing irreconcilable differences.
Neither Hurd nor Maren Morris have issued any statements or shed light on the decision to divorce. But that doesn’t mean people aren’t making up their own reasons.
Brittany Aldean Takes Feud To New Level
Instagram account @primetimecountrymusic took a humorous approach to the news of the divorce with a meme showing two photos of Ryan Hurd. In one photo, the singer looks distraught and disheveled. “Married to Maren Morris,” the text says beside the photo.
Another photo below shows a smiling Hurd alongside the text, “Not Married to Maren Morris.”
“Somehow we know [Jason Aldean] is going to be blamed for this.” the account captioned the meme.

According to Whiskey Riff, Brittany Aldean found the meme funny, commenting “Lmao” with a cry-laughing emoji. The outlet also said that the comment received over 100 likes.
However, the comment is no longer visible on the post, meaning either she deleted the comment or the original poster did.
Not everyone thought the meme was funny. One comment read, “Oh wow Brittany “Aldean” thinks it’s funny?!? She won’t think it’s funny when Jason turn his next mistress into his third wife!!”
