Kelly Clarkson was found gushing over the country singer Lainey Wilson during her 10-day residency event “Chemistry… an intimate night with Kelly Clarkson.” This is a short line of shows taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will run through August 19th, 2023. Kelly, age 41, has had Lainey, age 31, on her show The Kelly Clarkson Show previously. This also isn’t the first time that Clarkson has shared and flattered Wilson’s music.
Kelly Clarkson Shoutouts Lainey Wilson On Stage
Amidst Kelly’s performance, she promised she would be “sprinkling in covers that people have liked or album tracks that people have liked here and there.” One of those covers happened to be of Lainey Wilson’s recent hit song, “Heart Like A Truck.” Before Kelly started singing, however, she rained down compliments about Wilson. Clarkson stated, “… I love this artist.. I had her on my show, and I fell in love with her, and her name is Lainey Wilson.” The crowd went wild after hearing that name. After a short pause, Kelly continues, “I’m in love with her, I think she’s so cool. And I am obsessed..” She further explains that on her ranch in Montana she “listened to this record nonstop.” She then repeats that she loves this song and Lainey’s entire album.

Kelly Clarkson Has Lainey Wilson Guest Star
As stated previously, Kelly had Lainey guest star on her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Lainey appeared on the set on March 16th, 2023 for Season 4 Episode 117. Clarkson tells her, “Your music is inspiring other young women, which is incredible..” Lainey Wilson then begins to tell a story about a fan when Kelly cuts her off and says, “From this story, I feel like we can be friends..” Lainey quickly agrees and then continues. Later, Kelly Clarkson compliments Wilson’s style stating, “You look like you walked straight out of Fleetwood Mac, I love that look!”
Kelly Clarkson’s Twitter Shoutout
On July 17, 2023, Clarkson also posted a tweet that says, “If you’re needing a break from listening to my new album “Chemistry” then check out @laineywilson “wildflowers and wild horses”…” and mentions another artist, finishing with, “you’re gonna love both these artists… or you have shit taste.” With a winking emoji. Lainey replied saying, “Well dang. This means the world from you sister. Love you” Followed by a heart emoji.

Will We See More Of This Duo?
Kelly Clarkson and Lainey Wilson seem to be staying in touch and complimenting each other quite comfortably. Their friendship is clearly blossoming in the public eye. With the way this is going, perhaps there will be a performance with them together in the future.
