Dolly Parton’s Long-Awaited Rock Album
Early this year, Dolly Parton made the shocking announcement that she was working on a rock album. The May announcement pleased fans who have been clamoring for her to unleash her inner rockstar.
Aptly titled, Rockstar will be available for the masses on November 17 – just in time to make it the perfect Christmas gift for the Dolly Parton fan in your life.
However, many details of the album are already out there, including the star-heavy track listing.
Dolly Parton teamed up with musicians from all genres for her first-ever rock album, including former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
The epic 30-song album also features the last surviving members of The Beatles – Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Kid Rock – who also collaborated with the Queen of Country Music Loretta Lynn – also performs on the record.
Other artist include Lizzo, Brandi Carlile, and Stevie Nicks.
Taste of Country shared the full tracklist for Rockstar, out November 17, 2023.
How the Country Music Icon Keeps Her Temper in Check
Dolly Parton is fierce and fiery, but she doesn’t think she has a temper. During a chat with Nancy O’Dell on TalkShopLive, she said that she doesn’t “lose” her temper, but she “uses” it instead. What does she mean?
The “Romeo” singer shared the relatable moment when someone challenges her family or otherwise crosses a line. “..Sometimes there are just some people you have to speak up to.”
In fact, the diminutive starlet said that it comes as a “shock” to people when she raises her voice.
While Dolly Parton claims she doesn’t have a temper, she admits it’s not good when she does. “But then I become my daddy,” she warned during the interview.
Dolly Parton Explains Thoughts Behind ‘World on Fire’
Dolly Parton opened up about a lot more than just whether she has a temper or not. She also took the time to explain her mindset when she “World on Fire,” the only original song on the album.
Any fan of Dolly Parton knows she pays attention to what’s happening in the world around her. She explained to Nancy O’Dell that the song was motivated by “greed and hate” in the world.
However, she isn’t sure if the song will fall on deaf ears.
“I don’t know how much it will do because we just keep not trying to do as good as we should, and I just really felt like I needed to say something, so I did.” – Dolly Parton, TalkShopLive
