Carrie Underwood returned to Sunday Night Football for the 2023 season. Now, her per-game payday has been revealed. Keep reading to find out how much she’s raking in performing the theme song.

Carrie Underwood Releases Deluxe Album

Carrie Underwood is one busy lady! She wrapped up her THE DENIM & RHINESTONES tour in March but went right back on the road for a handful of dates with iconic rockers Guns ‘N Roses. And then there’s her ongoing residency at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, which was recently extended into 2024.

Between all that, she somehow found the time to record six new songs for the deluxe edition of Denim & Rhinestones. On Sept. 14, she was a guest on the TODAY show to promote her new album. She also sang some of her biggest hits as part of the Citi Concert Series.

Despite her busy schedule, the mom-of-two found the time to film the intro for NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Her Sunday Night Football Payday Revealed

Carrie Underwood has a close connection to the sports world. Her husband, Mike Fisher, is a retired professional hockey player. She told Access Hollywood ahead of the kick-off that she loves football.

“I grew up watching Sunday night football, and I love football in general, so it’s so much fun to kind of play a small part in it and hopefully get everybody pumped up for the game.” – Carrie Underwood, Access Hollywood.

2023 marks 11 consecutive years of Carrie Underwood being the face fans see on Sundays when they tune into NBC to watch some football. Sunday Night Football kicked off this year with the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants season opener on Sept. 10 with Carrie Underwood performing “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”

Faith Hill sang the theme song before Carrie Underwood took over in 2013. Over a decade later, the country star kept the intro fresh by surprising fans with a drum solo.

Many people know that the NFL doesn’t pay performers for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but do they pay for Sunday Night Football performances?

According to AllSportsFaq.com, the “Before He Cheats” singer pulls in $1 million per week for performing the theme song on Sunday Night Football. That comes to about $18 million a season. It’s no wonder her net worth is so high!

What do you think about her payday? Is $1 million per week too much, or does she deserve even more? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Sunday Night Football airs on NBC and streams on Peacock.
